We discovered this area during a four year exploration of Central America
in the early 90’s. When we first arrived at the little town of Bocas
Del Toro, our first impression was that it must have been what Lahaina,
Maui, was like 50 years ago! We immediately fell in love with the area
and soon began negotiations to purchase the majority of land on the Island
of Solarte, just a 5 minute boat ride across the water from Bocas town.
We wanted to create a master planned island community for lovers of nature and tropical lifestyles that would be unique and environmentally sensitive as well. We have made over the past several years, a commitment to develop this property with a well thought-out plan that will blend the lots and homes into the natural surroundings of the magnificent tree-canopy, rain forest vegetation, beautiful beach coves and cliffs that overlook the clear waters of the Caribbean ocean. The first two homes, completed in 2,000, reflect this philosophy. Tourism is growing year-by-year in Panama and the Caribbean province of Bocas del Toro has become one of the country’s most popular tourist destinations. This is good news for appreciation of real estate values. Lots that sold just three years ago for less than $20,000 are now selling close to $40,000…Oceanfront lots three years ago were in the mid-$30,000 range..they are now in the high $60,000 range and more. No one can predict the future of this area and its effect on investments, but one thing is certain, the lots being offered now are still among the lowest priced lots for this type of tourist/residential property anywhere in the Caribbean. Belize and Roatan were once at this stage of development a few short years ago…prices there have skyrocketed.
